Club Directors Coaches & BOD

SPECIAL SITE FOR DELTA REGION LEADERSHIP

Please do not share this hidden URL with your general membership. (Coaches, club directors, Board members & officers only as you see fit)  I'll need to be candid in my comments and not be concerned about teenagers & parents reading it.  This will provide another way to keep our Regional leadership in the loop and give you background information about our Region.  This is my first year as Commissioner and I'll be calling on you for some decisions in a variety of issues--perhaps this will help you consider these matters.  Urgent matters will be e-mailed to you, but I'd suggest you bookmark this hidden page for future reference and a source of information.

One caveat, though:  The Delta Region is a very small part of USA Volleyball and direct communication with them (without going through the Region office) indicates we aren't doing a good job informing our members.  Generally, they will refer you back to the Region office, but you may get generalized information from them that is contrary to Delta Region policies we have established.  I hope our new web site will make communicating a little easier.  As many of you can relate, my "real" daily job means I'll typically handle my portion of Region business via e-mail before & after working hours.

On occasions, I too get frustrated with the lethargic rate of change at USA Volleyball and its focus on matters that are not a priority in the Delta Region.  However, I have concluded the Delta Region is treated very fairly, probably because of the consistent leadership provided by Carl & Barbara.  Reports and fees have been submitted in an accurate & timely fashion.  An entire committee deals with "compliance" matters--whether we issue membership cards (required) and publish a newsletter (required) and have our regular BOD meetings (ditto.)  Joanie and I will do our best to learn this job and keep USA Volleyball satisfied.  The contacts I've gained in USA Volleyball over the past 25 years have already proven valuable.  Our voice in the organization is already well heard considering we are only one of the forty Regions and contain only about 1% of total membership.
