2008-09 Junior Volleyball Coaching Certification
Delta Region Certified Coaches 03/11/2009 update
To coach at junior practices or tournaments in the Delta Region, a coach must:
1) Be a current member of USA Volleyball Delta Region.
2) Have successfully completed the Delta Region's background screening requirements. Background screenings are now effective for two years. Reason for background screening. Insurance requirements prohibit other background screenings from being used, such as for law enforcement or teachers.
3) Have completed an IMPACT or CAP coaching clinic. (At the current time, this is considered a one-time only requirement) The Region office maintains a list of IMPACT certified coaches.
4) Officiating requirement: Delta Region coaches are responsible for the officiating requirements of their team and MUST remain courtside during their team's officiating duties at tournaments. To comply with these requirements and properly supervise their team, it is recommended that Delta Region coaches complete the minimum requirements as both an official and a scorekeeper.
(These requirements extend to anybody in the role of club director, coach, trainer, manager who will be listed on the team roster. People not listed on the team roster cannot sit on the team's bench--such as official chaperones)
COACHES: If these requirements have not been completed, the general liability coverage & accident insurance coverage may NOT be in force. Your activities may not be covered until the requirements have been completed.
