The Delta Region encourages all member clubs to host sanctioned USA Volleyball tournaments.
Hosting a tournament can be beneficial to your club program in many ways. As well as offering the opportunity to compete without the expenses associated with traveling; it is a great way to expose your parents to the structure of club volleyball, provide community awareness and establish your club within the region.
However, to accomplish this, you must run a successful event by carefully planning the entire tournament. The guidelines and policies outlined in the below guidebook will help you organize your event and understand your responsibilities, as well as restrictions. These guidelines were developed through the Delta Region are not to be deviated from unless approved by the Commissioner.
At the request of Delta Region event directors, we have established a recommended match fee for 2022-23:
· $40 for National & Junior National officials
· $37 for Regional officials
· $35 for Provisional officials.
Reminder that working ten Delta Region events will result in Delta Region officials being paid a $500 bonus directly from the Region.

Dear Regional Leaders & Tournaments Directors,
Please find below the new Event Medical Professional Liability forms
USA Volleyball will continue to offer the medical liability insurance program this season and all needed forms are attached. This program provides medical liability insurance to ATCs, EMTs, doctors and other medical personnel who volunteer or who you might retain to work an event.
Reminder that if you are contracting with a sports medicine company, you should request proof of insurance (medical liability insurance for their staff). In your contract with a company, you should specify that all ATCs are certified and licensed in the state where they work. Student trainers should be under the supervision of a licensed trainer. Most of the large companies can easily provide this documentation. When proof of liability insurance cannot be provided, you can offer this program. The cost is $56 for Physicians/Doctors and $20 for all other healthcare providers per event.
All forms and payments can be sent to me amber.scott@usav.org . Please let me know if you have any questions.
The junior age definition for each age group was adjusted to a start date of July 1st (the date had previously been September 1st). A national waiver was added allowing girls 18’s in their junior year of high school to compete on girls 17’s teams. This was previously communicated as a Regional waiver, but further review of the motion and discussion by the RVAA and JA Chairs lead USA Volleyball to institute this waiver nationally (it will automatically be allowed on rosters in the member management system). Regional grade waivers will again be allowed for 14’s boys in the 7th grade to play at the BJNC on a 13’s team and for 13’s boys in the 6th grade to play at the BJNC on a 12’s team. This is the second season of this experimental waiver. Documentation of these waivers must still be submitted to the national office by the Region to be allowed onto rosters for nationally sanctioned events. This waiver will not be automatically applied in the member management system without Region approval.
1. OVERVIEW – USA Volleyball (USAV) has prepared Return to Play Guidelines for region leaders, club directors, event promoters, venue operators, members and families to provide guidance as volleyball activities begin to recommence across the United States. The following recommendations are not intended or implied to be mandates. Many of these recommendations are based upon current guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other Federal government agencies. The knowledge surrounding COVID-19 is constantly changing and circumstances are different based on geographic region. Therefore, region leaders, club directors, event promotors and venue operators should adhere to their state and local guidelines when determining their own re-opening policies and procedures.
USAV will be resuming sanctioning of activities on May 15, 2020. All USAV sanctioned activities will be required to adhere to the most stringent federal, state or local guideline for their respective areas. USAV insurance coverage will only be provided for activities that are allowed under such government directives.
Until COVID-19 is either eradicated, a vaccine is developed, or a cure is found, there is no way to completely eliminate the risk of infection and as a result USAV strongly encourages all participants to follow these recommendations as safety precautions. The information in this document is not intended or implied to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, nor does USAV or its forty (40) Regional Volleyball Associations (Region(s)) assume any liability or responsibility for the recommendations provided herein.
2. PURPOSE – The purpose of these guidelines is to create a comprehensive return to play plan for USA Volleyball sanctioned activities in the United States that are compliant with CDC, federal, state and local regulations. In the event of inclement weather, each individual and team must make the decision whether or not to attend a tournament. This decision must be made regardless of whether the tournament director or Region decides to hold the tournament and whether or not other local teams decide to attend. Should inclement weather cause a team to decide not to attend a tournament, the team captain or other team representative must notify the Tournament Director and the Regional Office immediately.
Generally speaking, the region will make every effort to hold a tournament. The Region will almost NEVER cancel a tournament based on “predicted” weather. The assumption should be made that a tournament will be held, unless you are notified otherwise. If you must contact the tournament director or region coordinator, please have only the club/team rep contact the office so duplicate inquiries from the same club/team can be avoided.
For inclement weather that strikes the day of a tournament, it is unlikely that a tournament director could contact all teams beforehand, so the tournament will be held for all teams that are able to make it.
