2020 USA National Beach Tour Championships coming to Huntsville, AL

USA Volleyball has announced that the 2020 USA National Beach Tour Junior Championship will be held July 21-26 at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Ala., in partnership with Rally Volleyball.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (June 23, 2020) – USA Volleyball has announced that the 2020 USA National Beach Tour Junior Championship will be held July 21-26 at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Ala., in partnership with Rally Volleyball.

Athletes who received a bid at a Beach National Qualifier will be top seeds with other registrants all qualifying to play in the open division.

USAV is excited to be holding the nation’s premiere junior national championship this year for the first time in Alabama” USAV President and CEO Jamie Davis said.

“We know that junior athletes and their families have been missing volleyball during the shutdown and we have planned extensive and strict safety protocols to protect the players, officials, coaches and fans. The USA NBT Junior Championship is a great place for the top American youth players to test their skills against some of the best players in the country.”

“We are honored to assist USAV in hosting this premier event during this challenging time," said Colleen Craig, CEO of Rally Volleyball.

“John Hunt Park offers a great inland alternative for beach volleyball. The complex boosts a brand-new premier beach facility including air-conditioned bathrooms, indoor and outdoor showers, wi-fi, power, water sprinkling system for the sand, and lights on all the courts, to name a few of the amenities.”

The event schedule is as follows:

12U and 16U Age Divisions:
July 21: Pool play
July 22: Pool play
July 23: Playoffs

14U and 18U Age Divisions:
July 24: Pool play
July 25: Pool play
July 26: Playoffs

The top three teams in each age group receive medals and prize packs. Admission for spectators is free.

USAV NATIONAL BEACH HP TRYOUT IN LITTLE ROCK

High Performance National Tryouts are held across the United States each year in the spring. On Friday, May 8th they are headed to Little Rock, AR thanks to 501 Volley! Not only are they playing host to the National HP tryout, they are also sponsoring a USA Volleyball National Beach Qualifier to be held the following Saturday, May 9 and Sunday, May 10th.

This is a great opportunity for Delta Region Beach players to be seen by the National staff and to also win a Bid to the National Junior Beach Championships to be held this summer in Huntington Beach, CA.

Tryouts are approximately four-hour events in which athletes complete physical testing and positional evaluations during a variety of drills and games along with other athletes within their FIVB age group. Athletes receives a tryout T-shirt included in their tryout registration.

Each tryout also includes a parent meeting, where a representative from High Performance will review the available programming for the current year available to athletes in each age group.

USA NATIONAL JUNIOR BEACH TOUR COMING TO LITTLE ROCK

In a joint effort between the National Beach Tour and 501 Volley, the Tour is coming to the Delta Region!

To be held Saturday, May 9th thru Sunday, May 10th, the event will take place at Murray State Park, 5900 Rebsamen Park Rd, in Little Rock.

THE TOUR INCLUDES BOTH GIRLS AND BOYS DIVISIONS.

There are qualifying and non-qualifying events, with the qualifying events distributing bids to the USA National Beach Tour-Junior Championships in July at Huntington Beach, California.

Qualifying events will such as this, will award Open Division bids to the National Beach Tour Junior Championships to the winners of each age division.

Tryout registration opens Nov. 19, 2019 @ 6:00 PM
 

  • Step 1: Create a High Performance registration account
  • Step 2: Log in and register
    • Registration is $90: Closes one week (seven days) prior to tryout date at 10 a.m. ET
    • Late registration is $115: Available starting one week (seven days) prior to tryout date until three days prior to tryout start date at 10 a.m. ET
    • Last chance registration is $140: Available starting 10 a.m. ET three days prior to tryout date until tryout starts (local time)

Tryouts will be held at Murray State Park located at 5900 Rebsamen Park Rd, Little Rock, AR. All tryouts are listed in local time. Check-in begins at the tryout start time. Tryout participation is dependent on registration in advance; registration is capped and space is limited for athletes who register late. If a tryout is filled to capacity, you may add your athlete to the waitlist and must wait to be notified to move up off the waitlist in order to register and participate in the tryout.

Athletes turning 18 or already 18 years old-SAFESPORT NOTE :  As of June 2019: If your athlete is 18 years of age OR turning 18 years of age on the day of their tryout, they will need to complete ALL modules of SafeSport training in order to participate. This will also be true for all 2020 High Performance training programs.

HP Tryout Transfer and Cancellation Policies

Families may request a transfer or cancellation for a completed tryout registration at any time up until the start time for the event that you are registered for. Cancellations requested in advance of a registered event will be refunded in full less a $20 administrative processing fee within 1-2 weeks of the request submission date. Any questions can be sent to beachhp@usav.org.

2020 Beach High Performance Tryout Schedule (both boys and girls)

USA Volleyball High Performance National Training Programs provide a unique experience and give athletes the chance to train, compete and progress through the high performance pipeline with other top players from across the United States. Several U.S. National Team athletes, including Sara Hughes and Kelly Claes, first competed internationally with USA Volleyball Beach High Performance.

At a USA Volleyball High Performance tryout, athletes take their first step on the Path to the Podium by demonstrating their abilities and potential. Coaches evaluate each athlete for the opportunity to be selected to train or compete in the National Team Pipeline. The A1, A2, and A3 National Training Programs each provide athletes with the unique experience of training in the National Team system, designed to help athletes reach the pinnacle of success in the sport. Working with some of the top coaches in the country, these athletes are given the tools and support they need as they continue to strive to progress on their path to the podium.

2020 USA Beach Tour Calendar

The 2020 USA National Beach Tour for junior athletes kicks off September 22, 2019 in Galveston, Texas. Events will continue through summer of 2020 around the country. New events are being added, so keep an eye on this calendar.
